The week of February 21, 2022, JLJ members participated in the LBDI grassroots social media campaign. Our goal this year was to raise $15,000. Participating members raised over $18,000. The purpose of this grassroots, social media campaign each year is to invite dialogue among colleagues, friends, and even strangers to raise awareness of poverty and food insecurity in our community. One of the biggest impacts JLJ members can make in combatting food insecurity involves making people aware that it exists. Knowledge is power! Uniting to increase awareness on this issue helps to further the League’s mission, raise funds to help support the League’s efforts such as our signature project Fresh Minds, and share who WE are as JLJ.
