Ju’Coby Pittman moves through the Clara White Mission with the energy of a whirlwind.
With the aroma of pork loin wafting through the air, she goes to the kitchen to check out the menu. She strolls through the garden of the Ashley Street facility to see how the vegetables are growing. She crosses the street to discuss the renovation of the red-brick building, once an old hotel, that the mission is transforming into a Veterans Affairs outreach center.
Pittman, brimming with enthusiasm, dispenses hugs, hellos and hope to residents and staff as she shows off the century-old facility where she has been president and CEO for 22 years. Her commitment to carrying on the legacy of Eartha and Clara White, the mission’s founders, is evident.
